Appreciation Event 2017 - A Great Success!

On Friday, November 3, 2017, OASW held its bi-annual Appreciation Event @ Twenty Toronto Street Conferences & Events in Toronto. 

The event was a great success!

Lisa Taylor, President of Challenge Factory and the Centre for Career Innovation, highlighted five key trends that are shaping the future of work.  Lisa Taylor is a sought-after expert, speaker and columnist - the go-to resource for helping companies recognize and adapt to changing career timelines and demographic composition. 

As President of Challenge Factory and the Centre for Career Innovation, Lisa offered a dynamic perspective on how demographics, the freelance economy and new market dynamics impact organizations and individuals. Lisa shared new thinking and research that highlights five key trends that are shaping the future of work. In this high-paced talk, members hear how demographics and longevity, career ownership, the freelance economy, the emergence of platforms and the prevalence of AI and robotics impact how we think about the role of work, careers and the future. 

Members were challenged to reflect on how these trends are impacting their own career as well as how they apply to the challenges your clients face. 

Lisa Taylor is the author of "Retain and Gain: Career Management for Small Management for Small Business", as well as a second book to be published in 2018 with a working title of "The Talent Revolution".

OASW is the voice of social work in Ontario. It is a voluntary, provincial, non-profit association representing approximately 5,200 social workers. All practicing members have a university degree in social work at the bachelor's, master's or doctoral level.
