OASW Releases 2023 Provincial Pre-Budget Submission

January 26, 2023

In response to the Government of Ontario’s annual call for consultations on the provincial budget, OASW has submitted our recommendations to prioritize access to mental health care to alleviate health system pressures.

Our recommendations focused on cross-Ministerial opportunities to expand access to mental health and substance use services across systems, to reduce pressure on our health care system and ensure Ontarians can access timely and quality mental health support in the most appropriate setting to meet their needs.

Our written submission will be reviewed by the office of the Minister of Finance and by the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs. We hope to see our recommendations reflected in the 2023 Ontario Budget, scheduled to be released prior to March 31, 2023, and we look forward to continued engagement with government to advance these recommendations.
