OASW Distinguished Social Worker Award (Local Award)
Purpose: To recognize social workers’ contributions and commitment to leadership, advocacy and innovation in their communities.
Description: Recognizing social workers and OASW members in communities across Ontario whose leadership, advocacy, or innovation have benefited their social work colleagues as well as their broader community services and/or local community.
OASW will recognize up to one recipient per Local Engagement Network area each year.
Eligibility: All candidates must be members of OASW and must be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated contributions and commitment to leadership, advocacy or innovation in social work.
- Demonstrated impacts and benefits to their social work colleagues, as well as their broader community services and/or local community.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Association and profession.
