Ann Seymour is a mom to four adult children and is married to a Kaniekehaka from Akwesasne. Her parents, Lavina Corbiere (Johns), are from M'Chigeeng First Nations and her late father, Raymond Johns, is from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
She is an Indigenous advocate and educator dedicated to advancing the voices, rights, and well-being of Indigenous Peoples. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to the 3Rs: Respect, Relationality, and Reciprocity, cultural integrity, and the ongoing impacts of colonialism.
Ann actively promotes the principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and works to ensure its Calls to Action are meaningfully reflected in education, practice, and policy. Through her advocacy, teaching, and community engagement, she continues to create spaces where Indigenous knowledge, identity, and ways of being are valued and upheld.
